Senior Advisor Risk Reduction, Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tū Ake
Livvy Harris is a Senior Advisor in the Risk Reduction Team at the Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tū Ake. She works across government, research, and practitioner communities to bridge the gap between science, policy, and practice. Her focus is on enabling risk-informed, evidence-based decisions that help reduce the impacts of natural hazards on people, property, and communities. She has a background in disaster risk reduction and previously undertook research on evacuation modelling for a landslide-generated tsunami in Milford Sound.
Natural Hazards Commission Workshop
Climate change and natural hazards affect the same people, places, and decisions, but they are often managed separately. This workshop will challenge participants to think about who is responsible for managing risk, where those responsibilities should sit, and how we can take a more integrated approach to building resilient communities.
